Cashews sold at Trader Joe’s recalled due to possible salmonella contamination
(Gray News) - Cashews sold at Trader Joe’s were recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
The company Wenders LLC has issued a recall of Traders Joe’s 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews. According to the FDA, certain lots of the product may have come in contact with salmonella.
The FDA found the possible contamination during routine testing.
The affected products have the SKU number 37884 and have India or Vietnam as their country of origin. Different affected lots have different best-by dates.

The cashews were sold at Trader Joe’s locations in 16 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nevada, Tennessee and Texas.
No illnesses have been reported at this time.
Symptoms of a salmonella infection can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. The infection can also be fatal in elderly people, young children and those with a weakened immune system.
Customers are advised not to eat the product and to return it to Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
