McDonald’s to cut prices on some items

(CNN) - If you’re constantly shocked at the price of fast food, which is meant to be cheap, you’re not alone.

But you may be in for some relief.

Prices at McDonald’s jumped as much as 10% last year.

And just a few months ago, the company’s CEO bragged about the chain’s ability to push prices through the roof while still posting strong sales.

With McDonald’s now reporting weaker than expected sales at its U.S. stores, executives are finally acknowledging customers need a break.

On Monday, McDonald’s indicated the chain would cut prices on some menu items.

Details on the timing or size of any price cuts weren’t announced.
