Study finds there’s an East-West rivalry between Dunkin’ and Starbucks

(CNN) – Are you team Dunkin’ or team Starbucks?
It turns out your loyalty may come down to geography.
A real estate data company used internet searches by location to gauge the popularity of each java joint.
It found the top five cities for Starbucks lovers are on the West coast, including:
- Sacramento, California
- Los Angeles, California
- Riverside, California
- San Diego, California
- Seattle, Washington
The cities with the most Dunkin’ lovers are mostly on the East coast, including:
- Providence, Rhode Island
- Hartford, Connecticut
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Baltimore, Maryland
- Chicago, Illinois
The East-West affections are not surprising, as Starbucks was started in Seattle and Dunkin’ was founded in Quincy, Massachusetts.
