WATCH: Male tries hiding bottle of vodka in pants at Lincoln grocery store

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for someone who tried stealing a bottle of vodka from a Lincoln grocery store last year.

On Dec. 28, security video captured a male putting a bottle of vodka in his pants at Super Saver near 48th and O streets.

An employee caught him during the theft attempt and told him to leave the store, according to police.

He then caused “an altercation” with staff before leaving in a maroon sedan, police said.

The Lincoln Police Department said Wednesday that they have identified the suspect but have not arrested him.

Channel 8 initially posted the full video of the attempted theft provided by police but then learned that the suspect was a minor at the time.

The video has since been edited so that his face is not shown.

Police are also looking for a person who stole bottles of Hennessy and Jack Daniel’s from Casey’s on May 24.

The thief left the store near 55th and Superior streets in a black SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
