UPDATE: Lincoln woman, two others identified as victims in York crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three people were killed and three others injured Friday night in a crash in York.

An SUV pulled out in front of a semitruck at the junction of Highways 81 and 34 about 8:30 p.m., according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Three people in the SUV – 62-year-old Randall Wheeler and 69-year-old Janniee Wheeler, both of York, and 70-year-old Rita Beins of Lincoln – were pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Authorities said a fourth person in the SUV and two people in the semi were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The area was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
