Still below average for another day before warming up

In case you missed it, there were five tornadoes confirmed near Minden, Sutton, Norman and Hastings/Inland from Saturday, July 6th. You can find out more details here.

And on brand for this year, there were some sightings of a funnel cloud in southeast Nebraska on Monday night.

The rest of this week is going to be rather quiet with little chances for precipitation that won’t be rather widespread. Tuesday morning will be a great time to get out and enjoy a bike ride with light wind and temperatures slowly climbing from the lower 60s to the lower 70s.

Bikecast

Tuesday is expected to be our last day below average highs that are closer to 90° at this time of year. It’ll have a similar feel to Monday, with the humidity staying in check for the most part. For a summer day in July, we’ll take it!

4 Day Temps

The next chance for a quick shower/isolated storm will be on Wednesday with the heating of the day. We’ll see some cumulus clouds grow once more, but there’s a better chance that those clouds drop a bit of rain for some across eastern Nebraska by the afternoon hours Wednesday.

Wed Pop Ups

Our gradual warmup through the end of the work week will then turn into the heat of summer once more by the weekend. Especially on Sunday (and possibly into Monday), we’ll be in for some triple-digit heat.

3day Heat Wave

It won’t be record-breaking heat, but it’s about to get hot again!
