Motorcyclist killed in crash on rural York County highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday evening in a crash on a highway in rural York County.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. at Highway 34 and Road P, just east of York.

A Harley Davidson, driven by 66-year-old Douglas Bristol of Fairbury, was heading west on Highway 34 when an eastbound SUV turned north onto Road P and hit the motorcycle, the sheriff’s office said.

Bristol was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several local agencies, including the York Fire Department and the Nebraska State Patrol, responded to the scene.

The crash shut down Highway 34 for over two hours.  An investigation is ongoing.
