Not all listings for Nebraska basketball tickets may be real, BBB warns

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Better Business Bureau warns Husker fans looking to attend the NCAA Tournament games to be careful about where they buy their tickets.

Last year, over 150 fake tickets were purchased and reported to the Better Business Bureau.

Jessie Schmidt of the BBB gave some advice to ensure you’re buying tickets from legitimate sources.

“Purchase from the venue whenever possible,” she said. “Even if you can’t get to the venue where these tickets are available, if you go to a venue that is hosting a tournament, they are going to have official tickets available to you.”

The BBB suggests that you only purchase tickets from website with “HTTPS” domains. The checkout screen should have a padlock icon in the domain bar.

Using a credit card can also help as an extra step of protection.

You can always double-check the legitimacy of the website you’re buying tickets from by visiting natb.org.
