LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska will soon have another political party.

The Secretary of State’s Office announced Tuesday that the No Labels Nebraska Party has enough signatures from voters to be recognized in the state.

“County election offices did an exemplary job verifying the validity of signatures in a timely manner,” Secretary of State Bob Evnen said in a press release.

Organizers for the party collected 16,175 valid signatures, far exceeding the 6,728 required.

Voters will be able to register with the No Labels Nebraska Party starting May 15.

No Labels is “a national movement of commonsense Americans pushing our leaders together to solve our country’s biggest problems,” according to its website.

As of April 4, the group had made the ballot in 21 other states, the Associated Press reported.

No Labels was trying to put a presidential candidate on the ballot this year but said it couldn’t find a candidate with a “credible path” to victory.

Nebraska will now have five political parties: Republican, Democratic, Libertarian and Legal Marijuana NOW.
