Newborn child killed in York house fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A newborn child was killed Thursday in a fire at a home in York, police say.

Around 4 p.m., first responders were sent to a home on a report of a fire with possible injuries.

Police said the York Fire Department put the fire out, but a newborn child suffered “life-ending injuries.”

An investigation is ongoing.

Several local agencies — including the Nebraska State Patrol and the State Fire Marshal’s Office — responded to the scene.
