LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball announced on Tuesday the four finalists for the contest to name John Cook’s new horse.
In a post to social media, Nebraska said it received over 10,000 submissions in the contest. The Huskers whittled down that list to four: Cash, Rev, Rip and Ship.
People can vote now on Huskers.com. The poll will be open for a week, and the winner will be announced on the “Kicking Back with the Cooks.”
The contest winner will win two tickets to a home Nebraska volleyball match.

Cook — who received a contract extension earlier this month — said he would use his retention bonus of $70,000 to buy a horse in central Nebraska.
The Big Ten Coach of the Year proposed to Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen to buy him a horse rather than giving him an escalating salary.
“Troy loved the idea and while they couldn’t specifically write that into the contract, the retention bonus will be used for No. 415,” Cook said in a statement.
