NDOT’s 2025 road construction plan includes $51 million Lincoln West Beltway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Transportation on Monday laid out its construction plans for fiscal year 2025.

The work will cover 805 miles of roadway and cost $772 million, according to NDOT.

One of the biggest projects is the Lincoln West Beltway along U.S. Highway 77.

The road will be turned into a freeway along a 5-mile stretch from Van Dorn Street to Rokeby Road.

The traditional intersections at Pioneers Boulevard and Warlick Boulevard/West Denton Road will become interchanges.

The intersections at Old Cheney and Yankee Hill roads will be closed, the department said.

Construction is expected to begin as soon as next spring and will take three years.

The project will cost about $51 million.

The goal of the beltway is to improve the flow of traffic and reduce delays for drivers.
