Murder case against Omaha teen sent to district court

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An Omaha teenager will be tried for first-degree murder.

Douglas County Judge Sheryl Lohaus ruled Monday that the state has probable cause to prosecute 18-year-old Kianna Opal.

Lohaus bound the case over to district court.

Early on May 12, Opal stabbed a 17-year-old girl at a home near 52nd and Maple streets.

The 17-year-old, Ezra Sinkiawic, was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

Lohaus ruled that Opal will continue to be held without bail.
