More than 12,000 Verizon outages reported
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Verizon service outage was reported across the United States on Thursday.
The graph on downdetector.com shows reports surging around 5 p.m.
At the peak, there were over 12,000 reports of an outage around 5:30 p.m.
By 10 p.m., that number was below 500.
Channel 8 viewers and employees sent in outage reports to our Now Local News App.
Some were unable to make calls at all, while others reported that their calls dropped after a couple seconds.
Verizon said in a reply on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, that it was “aware of a nationwide situation affecting multiple states.”
The company did not say what caused the outage.
