PRESS RELEASE:

Spectrum, along with state and local officials in Lancaster County, today announced a $4.2 million project to bring gigabit internet to more than 400 homes and small businesses in northwest Lancaster County. Spectrum will contribute more than $1 million to the project, along with $3.18 million from a grant awarded by the Nebraska Public Service Commission through the American Rescue Plan Act.

“I’m thrilled that Spectrum will be expanding its network infrastructure to unserved and underserved areas of Lancaster County thanks to the State’s recent broadband grant announcement that helps improve internet access,” said State Senator Beau Ballard. “Investment in high-speed internet access is critical to making Nebraska and northern Lancaster County the best place to work, live, and raise a family.”

Construction on the broadband expansion project is expected to begin in early 2024 and be completed later in the year.
