LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A York man tried evading arrest Saturday night — but he crashed into a mailbox, the sheriff’s office says.

Around 9:10 p.m., a deputy tried pulling over a vehicle on West 25th Street in York.  It’s unknown why the vehicle was being stopped.

The driver — 20-year-old Gavin Prince — took off and led deputies on a chase throughout the city, according to the sheriff’s office.

The chase ended when Prince lost control and hit a mailbox and phone line box, the sheriff’s office said.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including operating a vehicle to avoid arrest.
