Lincoln man accused of DUI after making improper turn in stolen vehicle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A traffic infraction Wednesday led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle in Lincoln, police say.

An officer pulled over a vehicle near 13th and K streets just before 1 a.m. after the driver made an improper turn.

The driver, 35-year-old Dewon Harper, showed signs of impairment, and officers suspected him of driving under the influence, police said.

Investigators later discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of Memphis, Tennessee, in December.

Harper was arrested on suspicion of theft.  He was also ticketed on suspicion of DUI an not having a driver’s license.
