Here comes the sun and a July heat wave.
Although severe storms weren’t anticipated today a few did fire up over portions of northeast Nebraska.
Many portions of the state received substantial rain in a short amount of time last night and overnight.
The cold front responsible for the rain will move out of the region overnight leaving cooler conditions.
Temperatures on Monday will be slightly warmer then today and a bit below normal.
A fast warm-up turns into a heat wave by the end of the week.
As a cold front exits eastern Nebraska it will continues to spawn isolated thunderstorms with a few possibly severe. As it passes high pressure settles in from the southwest meaning a warming trend for the week ahead followed by a heat wave by the end of the week into next weekend.
