Girl Scout cookies hit the market in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Your favorite cookies just hit the shelves in Lincoln.

Girl Scouts are selling all over the city starting Friday until April.

There are 12 varieties of cookies to choose from this year.

These include Adventurefuls, Caramel deLites, Thin Mints, lemonade, peanut butter and s’mores.

Scouts earn prizes based on the number of cookies they sell and set a goal for themselves.

One Scout, Hannah Soflin, is trying to sell 1,000.

“You get patches from each type of ranking, like different amounts of cookies,” she said. “You get, like, a sheet that you get to pick from, from different types of prizes.”

The girls are also raising money for their troop trips.

Soflin’s most memorable trip was an overnight stay at the Henry Doorly Zoo’s aquarium.

You can support the girls by finding sellers using your zip code here.
