LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Creighton catcher Hogan Helligso announced Monday that he will be transferring to Nebraska.

The high school standout graduated from Elkhorn South in 2021 and was stellar both offensively and defensively.

He was ranked the No. 1 catcher in Nebraska and a top-10 player overall in the state by both Prep Baseball Report and Perfect Game.

Helligso has spent the last three seasons with the Bluejays, hitting .286/.377/.403 with five home runs and 19 RBIs.

He was named to the All-Big East second team after the 2023 season.

His addition could prove valuable for the Huskers if Josh Caron leaves for the MLB Draft next month.
