Food Bank of Lincoln: How to donate during the holidays

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The Food Bank of Lincoln has several holiday promotions and activities going on right now. Now through December 31, Holiday Food Drive donations can be made at participating grocery stores. Look for blue donation barrels near the entrances.

The non-profit is still in need of volunteers who can help with the Holiday Food Drive by transporting food donations from participating locations to the Food Bank each week throughout the holiday season.

Now, through December 31, you can also add a donation to your grocery bill at the checkout of participating stores. Look for donation slips near the register, and choose the amount you want to give. The total will be added to your bill.

Stores participating in ‘Holiday Food Drive’ and ‘Check Out Hunger’:

  • A Street Market (3308 A Street)
  • Hy-Vee (All Lincoln locations)
  • Leon’s Gourmet Grocer (2200 Winthrop Road)
  • Open Harvest Co-op Grocery (1618 South Street)
  • Russ’s Market (All Lincoln locations)

Donations, in general, can be delivered to their location at 1221 Kingbird Road, or dropped off at any Edward Jones location in the Food Bank of Lincoln’s Southeast Nebraska area. For a list of most needed items, visit their website.
