Duo armed with BB guns arrested in slushy drink robbery in northeast Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A duo was arrested Friday in a robbery of two slushy drinks in northeast Lincoln, court documents say.

Around 9 p.m., two teens were walking near 84th and Adams streets when a vehicle pulled up beside them.

The driver, 18-year-old Ashton Hussman, pointed a “realistic looking” BB gun at the teens and demanded they hand over money, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victims gave up their slushy drinks, which they had just bought at a nearby Casey’s, and an iPhone, the affidavit says.

During an investigation, officers identified Hussman and a passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Scott Koenig, as suspects in the robbery.

Inside Hussman’s vehicle, officers found two BB guns and a blue stain, which was “likely from the blue raspberry slushy,” police said.

They also discovered several bottles of rum and vodka, according to the affidavit.

Hussman was arrested on suspicion of robbery.  Koenig was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a class 2 felony.
