Deputy’s cruiser totaled in crash with pickup truck near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A deputy’s cruiser was severely damaged Saturday afternoon in a crash west of York, the sheriff’s office says.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at West Fourth Street and Highway 81.

A pickup truck went through a stop sign and crashed into a sheriff’s deputy who was on Highway 81, the sheriff’s office said.

The deputy and the driver of the truck were not seriously injured, according to the sheriff’s office.

York County Sheriff Paul Vrbka said the deputy’s cruiser was totaled, and the truck had “heavy front-end damage.”

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the crash.
