LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Buffalo County deputies seized over a pound of meth Saturday during a traffic stop near Kearney, the sheriff’s office says.

Deputies stopped for a vehicle parked on the shoulder of westbound Interstate 80, just west of Kearney, and spoke with two occupants.

The sheriff’s office said deputies became suspicious of “criminal activity” and searched the vehicle.

Inside, they found 1.09 pounds of methamphetamine and a .45 caliber handgun, according to officials.

The vehicle’s occupants, both from Wyoming, were arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of meth with intent to distribute.
