Crews save farmer trapped in grain bin in southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A farmer was rescued Thursday after being trapped in a grain bin in Gage County.

It happened shortly before 2 p.m. east of Pickrell, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.

The man fell into the bin and had grain up to his waist, the sheriff’s office said.

He was still sinking when first responders arrived.

Crews from the Pickrell Fire Department, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and the Beatrice Rural Fire Department pulled the man out of the bin.

He was treated at the scene and declined to be taken to a hospital, deputies said.

And as they left, the farmer got back to work.
