Cat killed in southwest Lincoln house fire

LFR responds to a house fire in southwest Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A cat died Wednesday afternoon in a southwest Lincoln house fire.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to Southwest 16th and West South streets about 2 p.m.

Firefighters initially thought someone was still inside, but everyone made it out safely, according to LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman.

One cat was found dead at the scene. Three other cats are missing.

The cause of the fire and the amount of damage done are unknown.
