Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Bryan Health talks prevention

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and there are several ways we can reduce the risk of getting it.

Dr. Rachel Jendro is a Breast Cancer Oncologist at Bryan Health. Dr. Jendro is the first fellowship trained Breast Surgical Oncologist to serve the community of Lincoln and greater Nebraska.

She says mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it’s easier to treat. If cancer is found, everything is then focused on what is best for the patient and what meets their wishes or needs. There are different types of surgeries to consider for treatment and reconstruction.
