Courtney Skornia

Courtney joined the Channel 8 team in June 2024.

She grew up in Washington, Missouri, with her parents and younger brother, where they cheered on the St. Louis Cardinals.

She received her bachelor’s degrees in journalism and psychology from Missouri State University in Springfield.

At MSU, she interned for 417 Magazine and KSMU, the Ozarks Public Radio station. She also worked for the student newspaper, The Standard, and a student-run fashion magazine called Sartorial.

Courtney became interested in TV news after watching KSDK with her grandparents.  She knew she wanted to be in news after acting as a news anchor at a career fair when she was 11.

When she’s not working, she loves spending time with friends, staying active, watching old rom-coms and hanging out with her cat, Ivy.
