LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — It was a clean sweep Tuesday for Nebraska’s three members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Republican Reps. Don Bacon, Mike Flood and Adrian Smith all won their primaries decisively.

Bacon’s race in the 2nd District was the closest, with businessman Dan Frei earning 34% of the vote.

The four-term congressman will face State Sen. Tony Vargas in November in a rematch of the 2022 election.

In the 1st District, Flood swamped his opponent, Michael Connely, by a 4 to 1 margin.

“Congressman Flood is keeping an active campaign schedule, taking no vote for granted,” Flood’s campaign manager said in a statement after the victory.

He will go up against State Sen. Carol Blood, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, in November.

Blood said in a statement that she will continue to focus on issues that are important to all Nebraskans.

“Our campaign will continue to work hard leading to the November election,” she said. “Nebraskans feel Congress is in complete disarray and want their representatives to remember our cherished nonpartisan roots and ability to work together.”

In Nebraska’s sprawling 3rd District, Smith is seeking his 10th term.

He easily defeated John Walz and Robert McCuiston.

In the general election, Smith will face either Democrat Daniel Ebers or David Else.

The Nebraska Republican Party broke with tradition by not endorsing any of the incumbents.

The state GOP picked Frei over Bacon and Connely over Flood. It didn’t endorse anyone in the 3rd District.
