75-year-old falls from, gets run over by tractor in southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was injured in an accident Wednesday while doing work on his home in Gage County, authorities say.

It was reported in Odell, which is about 20 miles south of Beatrice, shortly before 7 p.m.

A 75-year-old man was standing in the bucket of a tractor while working on the outside of his house, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.

The man tried to lower the bucket but slipped and fell out.

As he was falling, he accidentally put the tractor into gear, the sheriff’s office said. The tractor then ran him over.

Odell Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Fire and Rescue treated the man’s injuries at the scene.

He was then flown by helicopter to a hospital.

The extent of his injuries is unknown.
