Update: ITD reports that lanes are now open after a crash involving 6 vehicles and a semi-truck shut down I-84 westbound near Burley.
According to ISP, the accident on the roadway happened when a 60-year-old from Cleveland, Tennessee was driving a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck that failed to yield to slowing traffic in the construction zone near Heyburn.
The semi-truck struck 5 vehicles, including a 2017 Ford pickup driven by a 53-year-old man who died in the crash.
The accident closed the I-84 westbound for over five hours while emergency workers worked to assist those involved.
