Jessica Perez

Jessica Perez was born and raised in Washington State. She attended school at Central Washington University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in digital journalism and minored in law and justice.

Her first job out of college was in Yakima, Washington at an NBC affiliate. She worked as a multimedia journalist for two years and made a name for herself covering gang violence, immigration legislation and stories about missing and murdered indigenous people on the Yakama Reservation.

During her time there, she was recognized as a community leader by the Central Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

She joined KETV NewsWatch 7 in January 2023 and hopes to continue working on crime-related stories and push for stories that affect underrepresented communities.
