Aaron Hegarty

Investigative Reporter Aaron Hegarty joined KETV NewsWatch 7 in December 2023 and is thrilled to continue reporting in Omaha.

Aaron comes to KETV after getting his start at KMTV, another TV station in town. He focused on investigative journalism for most of his time there. Before that, he worked at the Omaha World-Herald for four semesters while in college. He also interned on the investigative team at USA Today.

He is a lifelong Nebraskan who grew up in Fremont. He got his first taste of journalism at the Fremont High School newspaper, the Rustler.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Aaron started as a computer science major, but quickly realized he missed telling stories. He graduated in 2019.

In the spare time, Aaron might be keeping up with the Huskers, spending time outside, or watching a show.
