Davon Taylor

Reporter

Davon Taylor joined the KETV NewsWatch 7 team as a reporter in January of 2024.

Davon grew up in metro Detroit and is overjoyed to be in the wonderful city of Omaha, sharing stories that matter most to this community. Although he grew up in the mitten state, for his last job he ditched the cold and ran to the south to be a multimedia journalist for KRIS 6 News in Corpus Christi where he entered the world of news.

Davon loves to report stories about real people, going through real situations. He hopes to shed light on issues that are concerning people in the Omaha community and highlight people making a positive impact in their neighborhoods. He believes great storytelling can bring compassion, unity, and correction to any situation.

Prior to becoming a news reporter, Davon interned in multiple newsrooms including ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir, WAFF in Huntsville, and Spectrum News 1 in Louisville, KY where he covered the death of Breonna Taylor, who was killed by officers of the Louisville Metro Police Department in March 2020.

During Davon’s time in Corpus Christi, he started a short series entitled “The Untold Story,” which focused on telling stories that may have been overlooked by others in the community, including a homeless camp under a bridge that was a living spot for more than 40 unhoused people in the Beeville community.

Over Davon’s short television career, he has earned several awards from the Kentucky Broadcasting Association for his commitment to broadcast journalism, but his favorite is the award he won for Best News Report from the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

He also prides herself on being the best uncle to his niece, Taylor, who he loves dearly.

Davon wants to hear from you! If you have a story idea, please send him an email at davon.taylor@hearst.com or 402-315-0606. If you see him around town, please stop and say hello!
