Some property owners who experienced tornado damage in April will now receive tax relief.Douglas County leaders unanimously approved reducing valuations on nearly 50 properties on Tuesday.All were damaged in the April 26 tornado outbreak. Douglas County Clerk Dan Esch said more than 420 properties in the area sustained major damage, and not all owners have applied for tax relief."If you believe 20% of the value of your property has been damaged then I would encourage to you file a form," Esch said.Esch said another 100 applications will be reviewed early next month.To apply, fill out the form before July 15. Douglas County leaders unanimously approved reducing valuations on nearly 50 properties on Tuesday.

All were damaged in the April 26 tornado outbreak.

Douglas County Clerk Dan Esch said more than 420 properties in the area sustained major damage, and not all owners have applied for tax relief.

"If you believe 20% of the value of your property has been damaged then I would encourage to you file a form," Esch said.

Esch said another 100 applications will be reviewed early next month.

To apply, fill out the form before July 15. The form is available here on the Board of Equalization's website.
