One in critical condition after shooting reported near Kansas City hardware store
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A man is fighting for his life after an afternoon shooting near a Kansas City hardware store left him in critical condition.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, emergency crews were called to the area of Independence and White Ave., near the Westlake Ace Hardware, with reports of a shooting.
When first responders arrived, they said they found an adult male had been hit by gunfire. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The roadway had been closed in the area as the investigation continued on Sunday afternoon but has since reopened.
As of 9:15 p.m., KCPD said the victim remains in stable but critical condition. No information about possible suspects has been released.
