Erin Heft

Erin Heft joined the KCRA 3 news team as a general assignment reporter in June 2021.

Having fallen in love with Northern California years ago, she returns to the Sacramento region after reporting in her home state of Texas since 2018.

Prior to her time spent reporting and anchoring in the Lone Star State, she received her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, while collecting minors in media law and analysis and also political science. Graduating at the top of her class with honors, she is now working toward her master’s.

Dedicating time to both veteran and military-based organizations, she enjoys giving back to those serving the country, after growing up around the globe in an Air Force family. Military and first responder mental health, as well as foundations who support the homeless, are two causes close to her heart.

Thankful to live in one of her favorite cities, she’s proud to call Sacramento home. Be sure to say “hi” if you see her around the region.
