Heather Waldman

Meteorologist/Climate Reporter

Heather Waldman is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. She joined the KCRA 3 weather team in 2021 and became the first meteorologist in the region to focus specifically on the important stories of how a warming world is affecting Northern California.

Previously, Heather was the evening meteorologist for WGRZ in Buffalo, New York. There, she covered everything from blizzards to severe thunderstorms. Heather also piloted WGRZ’s climate change coverage. Her work there earned her a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation as well as a New York Regional Emmy nomination.

Heather began her career with the national AccuWeather Network. It was there that she learned to forecast the weather for places all over the United States. Heather also made some guest appearances with Fox Business and ESPN as a weather expert during big storms.

Heather earned her meteorology and telecommunications degrees from Pennsylvania State University. She and her family are big Penn State football fans. She also proudly considers herself an adopted Buffalo Bills fan. When not watching the weather or football, Heather enjoys hiking, reading and training for local triathlons.
