WELL, NOW TO THIS DEVELOPING NEWS COMING OUT OF SACRAMENTO TONIGHT, WHERE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A DEADLY SHOOTING LIVECOPTER3 OVER THE CRIME SCENE EARLIER IN THE DAY TODAY, AS POLICE COMBED THROUGH THAT AREA FOR EVIDENCE. AND TONIGHT, SACRAMENTO POLICE ARE NOW ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC’S HELP IN FINDING A KILLER. THIS HAPPENED AT A HOME NEAR NORTHSTEAD DRIVE AND POTOMAC AVENUE. AND KCRA 3’S ANDRES VALLE WENT TO TALK WITH INVESTIGATORS AND NEIGHBORS IN THAT AREA TO TRY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. ANDRE, STILL NO ARREST, RIGHT? YEAH, AS OF RIGHT NOW, POLICE DO NOT HAVE ANYONE IN CUSTODY OR HAVE NAMED ANY SUSPECTS. BUT FROM THE NEIGHBORS, I SPOKE TO, THEY ALL SAY THEY’RE SHOCKED. SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENED ON THEIR STREET. I DIDN’T THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE THIS BIG. I WAS, I WAS AFRAID IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SCHOOL. LIVECOPTER3 OVER A LARGE CRIME SCENE IN THIS NATOMAS NEIGHBORHOOD TUESDAY AFTERNOON, SACRAMENTO POLICE TELLING US THAT A WOMAN WAS SHOT AND KILLED INSIDE THIS HOME ON NORTHSTEAD DRIVE. THE CALL COMING IN JUST BEFORE TEN IN THE MORNING. CRIME SCENE TAPE BLOCKING THE STREET FOR HOURS AS INVESTIGATORS TRIED TO PIECE TOGETHER WHAT HAPPENED. ONE NEIGHBOR WHO DIDN’T WANT TO BE SHOWN ON CAMERA IN DISBELIEF AS HE ARRIVED HOME FROM WORK. IT’S JUST KIND OF A SHOCK TO GET HOME FROM WORK AND HAVE THIS HAPPEN AND LITERALLY YOUR YOUR FRONT YARD. SO YEAH, A LITTLE, LITTLE DISTURBED BY IT. IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE. I MEAN, YOU WORRY YOU WORRY ABOUT, UH, I MEAN YOURSELF, YOUR PROPERTY, YOU KNOW, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU FIND OUT KIND OF WHAT HAPPENED, IT’S LIKE, YOU KNOW, IT’S SCARY TO FIND OUT THAT IT’S THAT CLOSE. THE IDENTITY OF THE VICTIM, NOT MADE PUBLIC, BUT HER FAMILY ON SCENE, SPEAKING TO US OFF CAMERA, WANTING TO FIND WHOEVER DID THIS TO HER. AND AGAIN, NO SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AT THIS TIME. Woman found dead with gunshot wound in Natomas, police investigate
A women's death is being investigated after she was found inside a Natomas home with a gunshot wound on Monday morning. Officers responded to a medical aid call at a residence on the 3100 block of Northstead Drive around 10 a.m., according to the Sacramento Police Department. After officers found the woman who had been shot, she was pronounced dead on scene. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, police said. KCRA 3 spoke to a neighbor who says he was in disbelief about what happened. "It's just kind of a shock to get home from work and have this happen literally in your front yard. So yeah, I'm a little disturbed by it," said the neighbor, who did not want to be identified. Police have not released the identity of the woman who was killed.
