Sacramento Kings sign DeMar DeRozan to 3-year deal, team sources confirm
The Sacramento Kings have acquired free agent forward DeMar DeRozan in a sign-and-trade with the Chicago Bulls, sources close to the negotiations confirmed with KCRA 3.ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that DeRozan signed a three-year deal worth $74 million. The Kings sent Harrison Barnes, Chris Duarte, cash considerations and two second-round picks to the Bulls.Minutes after the team confirmed the signing, DeRozan was seen sitting courtside with De'Aaron Fox and Kings owner Vivek Randive at Golden 1 Center during the California Classic. The Kings have been looking to add a major piece to their frontcourt for a while, with talks earlier this offseason they were in trade talks for New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram and Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markannen. DeRozan, age 34, averaged 24 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in Chicago last season and was a finalist for the NBA Clutch Player of the Year award. He's been and all-star six times and has made three All-NBA teams in his career.
