WELCOME TO DIRTBAG TEA CAFE IN ORANGEVILLE, WHERE THEY HAVE CUSTOM TEAS HERE. ONE OF A KIND THINGS LIKE ROUTE 66, A BAJA BLEND, LOTS OF OTHER TASTY THINGS. AND IT’S ALSO A CAFE. YOU CAN SEE ALL THE DIFFERENT TEAS THAT YOU CAN BREW YOURSELF. THEY’VE GOT SELF-SERVICE AND OF COURSE THEY WILL ALSO SERVE YOU. BUT WHAT’S REALLY INTERESTING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THAT THEY HAVE A VEGAN AND A NON VEGAN MENU. WE HAVE THE OWNER AND CHEF JASON PIERCE JOINING US. SO YOU’RE ALSO KIND OF KNOWN FOR YOUR BREAKFAST PIZZA. YES. IT’S UM IT’S ACTUALLY A BRAND NEW ITEM. UM IT’S BECOME REALLY POPULAR. WE’VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS NOW. UM, UM, SO A LOT OF FANFARE. OKAY. SO HOW DO WE START? IS THIS GOING TO BE THE VEGAN VERSION? OH, WE’RE DOING THE REGULAR VERSION RIGHT NOW. ALL RIGHT, SO THIS IS A BISCUIT DOUGH THAT WE MAKE WE MAKE IN HOUSE HERE. UM, THE WAY YOU WOULD START IT IS SO YOU COULD USE JUST ANY KIND OF BISCUIT DOUGH RECIPE. ABSOLUTELY. YEAH. SO WE, UM, WE WERE KNOWN FOR OUR BISCUITS HERE, SO WE LIKE TO USE OUR, OUR HOUSE MADE BISCUITS. SAME THING WITH OUR GRAVY. THIS IS OUR SAUSAGE GRAVY. WE ALSO MAKE IN HOUSE. WE ALSO MAKE OUR OWN SAUSAGE. SO THIS IS ALL HOUSE MADE HERE IN IN THE CAFE. UM, SO THE FIRST THING WE DO IS SPREAD A NICE LAYER OF OUR SAUSAGE GRAVY ON THE BISCUIT. MM. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA. RIGHT. SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN JUST REGULAR BISCUITS AND GRAVY. MAKE IT A BISCUIT. PIZZA. SO FOR BISCUIT. YEAH, WE USE A MOZZARELLA CHEESE. AND THE VEGAN VERSION WE MAKE OUR OWN MOZZARELLA CHEESE. VEGAN MOZZARELLA CHEESE HERE IN HOUSE AS WELL. YUM. ALL RIGHT. AND THEN I SEE YOU GOT A LITTLE BACON AND EGGS HERE. SO WE, UH, THIS IS OUR CANDIED BACON. AND SO BOTH VERSIONS GET A CANDIED BACON OR BACON. AND THE VEGAN VERSION GETS OUR VEGAN CANDIED BACON. AND THEN THE REGULAR VERSION OBVIOUSLY GETS THE REGULAR BACON THAT LOOKS DELICIOUS. ALL RIGHT. AND YOU ALSO MAKE YOUR VEGAN BACON HERE AS WELL. ABSOLUTELY. WE MAKE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING HERE. ANYTHING WE CAN MAKE HERE, WE TRY TO MAKE HERE. AND THEN WE’RE GOING TO TOP IT OFF WITH AN EGG TO MAKE IT BREAKFASTY. RIGHT. AND THAT WAY IT’LL THAT LOOKS YUMMY. POP THE YOLK AND LET IT GO ALL OVER YOUR BACON. AND WE WOULD SPRINKLE SOME GREEN ONIONS ON IT. LOVE IT. AND THROUGH THE MAGIC OF TELEVISION, LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN IT’S DONE. LOOK AT HOW TASTY THIS IS. SO THIS IS THE NON-VEGAN VERSION. AND THEN WHAT VERSION IS THIS. THAT’S THE VEGAN VERSION. WHAT’S WHAT’S THAT ON TOP? UM, SO THAT’S A GRILLED TOFU AND THAT’S OUR VEGAN BACON AS WELL. AND LOOKS DELICIOUS. AND YOU SERVE IT WITH DIFFERENT SAUCES I SEE. SO THIS IS OUR HOUSE SALSA. WE HAVE A GREEN SALSA AND A RED SALSA. AND THEN THIS IS OUR SPICY SIRUP THAT WE LIKE. WE RECOMMEND A DRIZZLE OVER THE TOP THAT LOOKS GREAT. AND SO AGAIN THEY ARE ALSO, YOU KNOW, KNOWN FOR THEIR TEAS. IF YOU’VE BEEN TO ANY OF OUR LOCAL FARMER’S MARKETS, YOU’VE PROBABLY SEEN THE DIRTBAG TEA BEING SOLD AT FARMER’S MARKETS. AND SO WHEN YOU’RE HERE, YOU CAN ALSO, YOU KNOW, BREW YOUR OWN RIGHT SELF SERVICE OR YOU’LL SERVE IT AS WELL. ABSOLUTELY. WE SELL IT AS WELL. WE JUST SET UP A SELF-SERVE STATION WHERE YOU CAN COME IN AND MAKE YOUR OWN BLENDS, OR USE ONE OF THE MANY BLENDS WE HAVE. UM, WE ALSO COLD BREW MANY TEAS. UM, YOU CAN GET THOSE IN FLIGHTS. YOU CAN GET THOSE BY THE GLASS. UM, AND WE’RE WORKING ON GETTING THEM IN CANS AS WELL. HOPEFULLY IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. THAT’S REALLY EXCITING. CONGRATULATIONS.
