Conformity Checks

A manufacturer, who is holder of a type approval issued by a type approval authority, is authorized to produce vehicles or vehicles parts in series production in accordance with the corresponding type approval. He must ensure that the approved product in series production continues to be in conformity with the products presented for type testing. Monitoring by the approval authority is carried out as part of the conformity of production inspections.

Not only the production processes (CoP-Q) but also the approved products (CoP-P) are inspected.

At the KBA, the tasks are organized in the subject areas

• System inspections in department 4 and
• Product inspections in department 5
