Wine Country Inn & Cottages Napa Valley

LikedThe property is beautiful, we had a garden room, which had its own private patio area, the rooms are large, clean and modern. Exactly as shown in the photos. There is a well manicured swimming pool and hot tub onsite and the grounds are charming. Lots of bird watching from the breakfast room balcony. There are fabulous wineries very close by, we visited Duckhorn, which was lovely, highly recommend. Sterling was also very close and well worth visiting for the gondola ride and views.

DislikedThere was a vague smell around the patio, might have been grey water rather than sewage, but it did smell and in particularly on hot days. There was very little information in the rooms about the local area, and when we asked, the staff just told us to use google, which I thought was a shame. It’s definitely a bed and breakfast only, they don’t offer any other food/drinks on site for lunch or dinner, there is a limited selection of drinks in reception. You’ll need a hire car or Ubers to get around as there isn’t much within walking distance.

LikedBreakfast was a pleasant surprise and the quality was good. The location and environment was very nice.

LikedGreat location. The cottage is big and spacious. Amenities are good. The place is a bit dated but still good value for money.

DislikedBed - I don’t know if the mattress is a bit old… other than that, there are no towels near the pool. Staffing for the place seems light.

Dislikedsome of the details to cleanliness– Found a few hairs in one of our towel sets, luckily there were 3 sets. Spiderwebs in windows and bathroom mirrors were dusty.

DislikedBreakfast was very standard. Eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals. It was supposed to be $ 50 per day per person for that breakfast. Our AC was not working on our 2nd day and it was not fixed. We reported it before we left for an event at 5 pm. When we came back around 1100 ish, the thermostat was off but when I turned it on, it still was not working. No notes left in our room. For $ 750 a night, I expected much better. I have more to say (not good), but let's leave it at this.
