OSHKOSH – Business is booming for Oshkosh Corporation.

Oshkosh Defense, an Oshkosh Corporation subsidiary, has landed yet another U.S. Army contract after announcing it received a $231.9 million order for modernized heavy tactical vehicles, kits and installs.

According to a recent news release, Oshkosh Defense will produce new Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck A4 tankers, cargos, wreckers, load handling systems, Common Bridge Transports and Palletized Load System A1s.

The order will also see Oshkosh Defense integrate advanced capabilities into the PLS A1 fleet through recapitalization.

“We are extremely honored that the U.S. Army continues to call on Oshkosh to provide our soldiers with the only heavy tactical vehicles proven to be rugged and flexible enough to meet the demands of contested logistics,” said Oshkosh Defense Chief Programs Officer Pat Williams in the release.

“Having produced more than 50,000 heavy tactical vehicles for the U.S. military and its allied partners, these delivery orders underscore the unmatched reliability and versatility of the Oshkosh Defense Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles,” Williams added.

The news comes on the heels of Oshkosh Corporation’s $27.3 million contract with the U.S. Army to produce 57 Medium Equipment Trailers.

Oshkosh Corporation was also awarded a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity MET production contract.

In November, Oshkosh Defense revealed it received a $208 million order from the U.S. Army for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, trailers and associated packaged and installed kits.

“Oshkosh is dedicated to our long-standing partnership with the U.S. Army to modernize the Oshkosh FHTV with new and enhanced capabilities through cost-effective and targeted upgrades,” Williams said.

“Room for growth as both threats and requirements evolve is key to these heavy platforms providing the payload, protection and mobility to support our warfighters in future combat environments.”

The Israeli Defense Forces also placed two orders for JLTVs with Oshkosh Defense in December. But that contract drew heavy criticism from pro-Palestine supporters at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, who demanded UWO administration cut longstanding ties with Oshkosh Corporation for its role in the ongoing Gaza conflict.
