Carol Leigh Michaels

Carol Michaels (nee Melbard) passed away July 3, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jeanette, and her husband John. She is survived by her daughter Lindsey Michaels, brother Albert (Linda) Melbard and her nieces and nephews.

She was an avid reader and learner who enjoyed teaching others, which lead to her 33-year career as a teacher with New Berlin Public Schools. Outside of teaching, she enjoyed bowling, practicing yoga, participating in her book discussion group, spending time with her animals and tending to her flower gardens.

Growing up in the 60s, she embraced the era's spirit of peace and proudly displayed peace signs. It is fitting that she left this life peacefully.

A celebration of life will be held at the Linx Clubhouse, 995 Pinehurst Court, Brookfield, WI 53005, on Sunday, August 11, 2024 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Memorials can be sent to the Mukwonago Public Library.
