The David Muir Speaker Series was established in 2011, designed as a bridge between students and the most seasoned professionals in politics, policy and the media.

The series has heard insight and ideas from senor officials in the Obama administration, political editors within the UK media and former advisors from Number 10 Downing Street.

Through these lectures, the series aims to explore the key contemporary issues impacting upon government and public service in the 2020s.

The series provides a space for knowledge exchange between students and these sectors and aims to inspire action and ideas surrounding public service. The series aims also to open-up the possibility of careers in these areas.

David Muir sits on the John Smith Centre Management Board and is a graduate of the University of Glasgow.

The John Smith Centre presents the David Muir Speaker Series in collaboration with the University of Glasgow College of Social Sciences Employability team.
