Mahima A. Jain

Mahima Jain is an independent multimedia journalist writing on socio-economics of gender and environment. Her writing frequently addresses issues of inequality and social injustice, and she works towards highlighting the voices of underrepresented groups. She was a finalist for the Thomson Foundation Young Journalist Award 2021, and her work was shortlisted for the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards, One World Media Awards and others. Mahima has previously reported on women's access to healthcare and finance, migration, gender-based violence, and climate change impacts on marginalized communities. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Scroll.in, BBC, Foreign Policy, The Caravan, Fuller Project, and other international and Indian publications. Prior to working as a freelancer, Mahima was an editor at The Hindu Group and at London School of Economics' SouthAsia@LSE blog. She is based in Bengaluru, India.
