Description
Side view of female green frog (Lithobates clamitans) in leaves near a pond in Connecticut, with cream-colored throat (green in male) and tympanum (or eardrum) about the same size as the eye (tympanum much larger than eye in male). Female green frogs average larger than males. The straight ridge down each side of the back distinguishes this species from the larger bullfrog.
