Lorraine Kelly paused her show today to send a sweet message to her daughter.

Pregnant Rosie is expecting her first child with her partner Steve, much to the delight of her mum Lorraine. Rosie revealed her engagement in a sweet post yesterday, with Lorraine pausing her show today to send a message to her daughter.

As they crossed over from Good Morning Britain to Lorraine, where hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray chatted with Lorraine Kelly, they joked they would skim over the recent football news - which saw Lorraine's beloved Scottish national team crash out of the Euros - and instead focus on the happy news, before letting Lorraine reveal the engagement.

Asked to share the good news, Lorraine said: "Rosie and her Steve got engaged, which is fantastic - he is wonderful. He asked Steve permission, went done on one knee. It’s quite confusing Susanna, it’s quite confusing. When I shout Steve they both turn around."

Rosie is currently on a babymoon with her husband-to-be and took to social media to share her exciting news. She wrote: "There are too many lovely things going on and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. Everyone always told me you’ll know when it’s about to happen but I had absolutely no idea, but I have a lifetime to get you back @stevewhite94. The biggest thank you ever to @elizabethmacdonaldjewels for being so sneaky and helping to design the most beautiful ring. Going for a lie down now…"

Mum Lorraine was thrilled and commented underneath the sweet snap, sharing her joy at accumulating two new members of the family. She wrote: "So happy - it’s such lovely news and I will have a son as well as a grand daughter."

Lorraine revealed previously that Rosie was expecting a baby girl.

"This is the most exciting thing to happen to our family, well, since Rosie was born. Last night, I felt the baby kick for the first time, which was extraordinary. It made it feel real," she shared in a recent exciting update.

Rosie and Steve had always planned to have a baby sooner rather than later. She said: "We'd talked about it a lot and we both wanted to become parents quite young, so that our parents can be around for as much as possible."
