Jess Ziu is ready to make up for lost time after she signed a new long-term deal with West Ham.

The former Shelbourne winger made a comeback last season from an anterior cruciate ligament tear that ruled her out of last summer’s World Cup in Australia.

Ziu (22) was out of action for the majority of her first season with the Hammers because of the ACL injury.

So far she has made 23 appearances for the WSL outfit and she is ready to push on now that she has committed her future to the club.

“It feels amazing to have extended my contract at West Ham United,” the 12-time capped star told West Ham TV.

“I love being here. From the moment I walked through the gates at Chadwell Heath, I knew this was where I wanted to be.

“Because of the knee injury that I sustained in my first year at the Club, it feels like I’m only just getting started in a West Ham shirt.

“But I’m more determined than ever before and I’m looking forward to coming back for pre-season and working hard to show what I can do in the seasons to come.”

Hammers boss Rehanne Skinner added: “I am delighted that we have extended Jess’ contract.

“Jess is an exciting player who adds energy and technical qualities to our play, in and out of possession.

“In the second half of last season, everyone started to get a glimpse of Jess’ capabilities following a long-term injury. I am looking forward to seeing her continue to progress in a West Ham shirt over the coming years.”

Ziu will be back in international action for Ireland next month when they face England in Norwich and France in Cork in their final two Euro 2025 qualifiers.
